Biography

Vladislav Todorov teaches film and cultural history at the University of Pennsylvania. He is the author of several scholarly books on modernism, performing and visual arts. He has contributed essays to The Yale Journal of Criticism, College Literature, Textual Practice, L’infini, Neue Literatur, etc.

His first creative pieces appeared in Post Modern Culture and Chelsea. In 2006 he published his first novel Zift: Socialist Noir, available in English by Paul Dry Books, Philadelphia, 2010. Todorov wrote the script of the Bulgarian movie Zift (2008) released in the US by the Independent Film Chanel (IFC). His second novel Zincograph came out in Bulgaria in 2010. Its film adaptation The Color of the Chameleon premiered in Toronto 2012 Discovery Program.
